Our Noho

We have been so excited counting down the days until our Noho - we get to do fun activities and sleep at school!!  Room 12 and Room 19 are joining us, so we are going to have such a great time!

First of all TWA gave us an amazing powhiri and Ma Ngamamaerua taught us the tikanga of te Whare Awhina.

Finally it was the day of our Noho.  We came back to school in the afternoon with our PJs and blankets.  We had a cool disco, yummy dinner, fun activities, kapahaka and a movie before settling down to sleep.

The next week we had a special celebration and each of us got a photo and certificate for attending our awesome Noho!  Thank you all the staff, students and whanau who helped us - we can't wait until our next one!!

Jump Rope for Heart

We had been practising our skipping skills all term so we were really looking forward to our JRFH day!  Room 14 went out in the first block and we were especially lucky because people from the Heart Foundation and Maori TV were there too!

Welcome Honey-Gurl and Kepu!

Honey-Gurl and Kepu are the latest members of Room 14 - welcome to Clendon Park School!

Thank you Feed the Need!

We always looked forward to our delicious hot lunches on Tuesdays and Thursdays and now Winter is over, so is Feed the Need.  We were very lucky to have Feed the Need so we made a special thank you card for them with lots of photos of us enjoying their kai!

Whaea Tracey's Reading Team

Everyday Whaea Tracey works with Paps, Crucial, Chrisda, Jethro, Oziah, Jono, Dezyire and Justine on alphabet and early words.  They are very fortunate to work with her and have to work hard, complete their homework and bring their books back to school every day to stay on the programme.  Recently Whaea Tracey awarded Crucial, Chrisda, Dezyire and Paps a certificate for their great work - Congratulations boys!

Room 14 Superstars!

Paps, Donnell, Samantha, Shanika, Vika, Taylor and Keilana played netball for the Superstars CPS teams this year.  At prizegiving Shanika and Samantha received medals for Most Improved player and Donnell got one for Most Promising player.  Congratulations to all our awesome netball players this year and thank you to Whaea Stacey and Whaea Liz for coaching!

Hedgehog Fun

Taringa 2 read Hedgehog Fun and they made their own Hedgehogs for all of us to enjoy!  They cut up all the fruit, pushed them on the skewers and pushed the skewers into the apples halves.  Everyone enjoyed eating the yummy, healthy hedgehogs!

Minecraft Lego Figures

We used small coloured squares to make our awesome minecraft lego figures artwork for the hall.  We even had Lego labels for our names.  We are very proud of our colourful creations!

Four in a Row

This term our topic is 'Toys' and we have a big stack of recyclable items all ready to create our own toys and games.  The first game we made used all the egg trays and the maths beans (we could use stones, coins or milk lids at home)  All you have to do is get four in a row so that is what we called it.  It was fun to challenge each other!  Next we will decorate the trays and make something else on our big brainstorm list!

Te Epetoma o Te Reo Maori Kuki Airani

Kia orana!  This week for Cook Island Language week we have been learning the Roimata song.  Beau Monga, the winner of this years X factor sung this song too!  All of the Junior school have been learning it and we sung it together at Junior school assembly.

Whakawhanaungatanga

Te celebrate the end of Te wiki o te reo Maori, room 17 and room 13 came into our class for a really fun afternoon.  Each class performed or taught everyone waiata (we sung Te Maramataka) and we did some Te Reo Kori all together.  Mersaydyz said her pepeha for us and we competed in a Te Reo GKQ competition.  Whaea Nicky, Whaea Hinemoa and Whaea Donna said we were awesome - ka mau te wehi!!

Cross Country

We headed down to the field all excited for our cross country race.  Room 14 had been training everyday and we were ready!  We had a great race, we had to run around the field two times.  Everyone was cheering and clapping for us.  Some of our families were cheering for us too.  We had a fun day!

Ready and waiting for our race
